As seen in C.G. McDaniel’s first two novels, DeUmbra and Nautical Contraband, he has Carolina and Florida on his mind. He was born in the foothills of South Carolina, and grew up on the colorful history spun from his grandfather's porch swing. He met and married his wife in Charleston, and he and his wife now live in Jupiter, Florida. C.G. has three children.
C.G. has written all his life. In high school he was published numerous times in the school literary magazine. He was honored in college with a publication in the University of South Carolina Literary Magazine.
C.G. enjoyed a long running weekly column, "Neath the Black Walnut Tree" in a Carolina newspaper. The column took a nostalgic look at the south and growing up southern.
C.G. was an Editor and contributor to a popular sailing life periodical. C.G. served as Associate Editor on the Caribbean Travel and life periodical “Bahama Breeze”.
C.G.’s first novel, DeUmbra, introduces the DeUmbra family and the real and imagined demons they must fight. It also brings to life the infamous pirate Stede Bonnet, and spins the haunting tale of his dark deeds. “DeUmbra” serves as the prequel that will lead the reader to the Krewe Of Jupiter series of mystery novels
C.G. recently completed his second novel, Nautical Contraband, which is the first installment of a Florida mystery series based on characters from his popular serial fiction featured in “Bahama Breeze”.
C.G. had a long running technical column in Building Online Business magazine, and has been featured in Financial Advisor and On Wall Street magazine.
C.G. has a degree in Computer Information Systems, and is the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for one of the largest financial services and securities Broker/Dealers in the country.
